Editor's Notes

Enjoy a whole tome of homoerotic artwork with The Complete Kake Comics, a historically significant book charting the globe-trotting and graphic exploits of muscle-bound, leather-clad protagonist Kake. Introduction by Dian Hanson.

Born in 1920, Finnish author Touko Laakonsen grew up at a time when homosexuality was punishable by imprisonment. Finding an outlet for his secret desires through artwork, the erotic cartoons of ‘Tom of Finland’ came to represent the cultural evolution of homosexuality as well as broadening the boundaries of who gay men could be.

The Complete Kake Comics is a collection of 26 explicit episodes originally published between 1968 and 1986, portraying everything from sex with a sunbather to Kake in the Wild West.

700 pages.
