Pin this intricate double winged brooch to any garment, its delicate dragonfly inspired shape compliments any outfit. A sterling silver brooch hand crafted by Australian artist Julia deVille.

Two individual dragonfly wing brooches connect via three draping chains. Pin the brooches in an even line or stagger them for a more dramatic effect. Each brooch can be pinned either horizontally or vertically to create a different look.

Each brooch measures 1.75 inches long. The shortest connecting chain measures 4.35 inches.

Inspired by the Memento Mori jewellery of the 15th to 18th centuries and Victorian mourning jewellery, Julia is fascinated by their acceptance of death.

Julia works predominantly in silver and gold, and incorporates materials that were once living, such as jet, human hair and taxidermy. She uses these materials and symbols of death in her work as a Memento Mori, a reminder of our mortality.

Julia considers her work to be a celebration of life, a preservation of something beautiful, and in accordance with her ethical beliefs only uses animals that have died of natural causes.
